We will soon be getting Chelsea’s team news for the big game against Tottenham, and there are a few interesting questions to be answered.
In our pre-match predicted XI we put defender Josh Acheampong in the team, and that decision is backed up by analyst CFCCentral speaking on the London is Blue podcast. He sees the defender as a key piece in this game.
Why Acheampong is perfectly placed to hurt Tottenham

“[Winning] will also be about being able to manipulate their press, and trying to provoke it. Aston Villa did this very well, asking Ezri Konsa the centre back to carry the ball out under pressure. So I do think Josh Acheampong is a very, very good option to start here as right centre back.
He had a great game last time out and especially with his ability to carry out under pressure, I would say that if you want to hurt Spurs, then this is would be quite an interesting game for Josh. Encourage him to just carry out and cause a lot of issues.”

We would want Josh in the team no matter who we’re facing – he’s our most in form central defender right now. The fact he’s well placed to hurt Spurs is just a great bonus. Let’s see if Enzo Maresca agreed with us in the next few minutes…
In other news…
Estevao is unlikely start today, but we’re sure we’ll see him in action later in the game. It’s a good chance to read up on a great interview about him and his early years.
Wesley Fofana has been given 300 hours of community service after filmed driving in a dangerous way earlier this year.
