Buffalo Bills reportedly trying to make splash at WR with just days left before the NFL trade…

The Buffalo Bills appear to be looking to make a big splash at the NFL trade deadline.

With the NFL trade deadline nearing, Buffalo was linked to two of the biggest-name wide receivers potentially available. In her latest article for The Athletic, Dianna Russini reported that the Bills have called the New Orleans Saints on Chris Olave and the Las Vegas Raiders on Jakobi Meyers. Russini noted that she expects the Saints to keep Olave and that the Raiders’ asking price for Meyers is high.

Buffalo has until 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, to make any potential deals at wide receiver or elsewhere.

Olave, 25, is a potential No. 1 wide receiver for the Bills. The receiver went over 1,000 receiving yards in his first two seasons, but concussions are a concern. Olave has had four confirmed concussions in his NFL career, with two coming in 2024.

Meyers, 28, does not provide the same upside as Olave, but he would upgrade the overall wide receiver room. The Raiders’ wide receiver requested a trade before the start of the 2025 season and recently stated that he was still hoping to be moved by the trade deadline. Las Vegas recently signed veteran Tyler Lockett, so the Raiders may soften their asking price on Meyers and move him before Tuesday’s deadline. This season, Meyers has caught 29 passes for 329 yards. Meyers went over 1,000 yards receiving for the first time in his career last season when he posted an 87-1,027-4 stat line.

Buffalo’s wide receivers have failed to create separation consistently this season. Their struggles seem to have the general manager, Brandon Beane, backtracking on his stance that the receiving room was not an issue entering the 2025 season. Shortly after the 2025 NFL Draft, Beane got testy with WGR-550 radio hosts over the team addressing defense over wide receiver.

“A year ago, I get you guys asking why we didn’t have receivers, but I don’t understand it now,” Beane told Jeremy White and Joe DiBiase. “You just saw us lead the league in points, when you add all the postseason, no one scored more points than the Buffalo Bills, including the Super Bowl champions. So, you just saw us do it without Stefon Diggs, same group. How is this group not better than last year’s group? Our job is to score points and win games. Where do we need to get better? Defense. We did that. So, I get it, you got to have a show, and you got to have something to b---h about, but b----ing about wide receiver is one of the dumbest arguments I’ve heard.”
