Callum Wilson could start for West Ham United against former club Newcastle United.
The Hammers head into the match sitting 19th in the Premier League table, having acquired just four points for their opening nine matches.
Graham Potter oversaw the first five matches and managed West Ham’s only win, a 3-0 victory away to Nottingham Forest. The man in the opposition dugout that day, Nuno Espirito Santo, then replaced him.
Nuno’s tenure started with a credible goalless draw away to Everton but he has lost all three matches since.
West Ham United full-back undergoes surgery - ruled out v Newcastle United
West Ham lost 2-1 away to Leeds United last week and in the first half lost full-back Ollie Scarles to a broken collarbone.
The 19-year-old underwent surgery on Thursday and will be out “for a while”, according to Nuno. He joins centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos and striker Niclas Fullkrug in the treatment room.
Nuno said: “Dinos has started his fitness programme now and had his first session on the grass, so I expect a couple of weeks more for him to be totally available.
“Oliver Scarles, of course, went to surgery yesterday (Thursday) and it went well. He’s going to be out for a while. He’s not totally stopped as he can do some type of conditioning [work].
“Niclas Fullkrug is out. I’m still not totally sure when he will be available. He started on the grass but not totally with the group, so we expect it’s going to be fast.”
Callum Wilson could start against former club Newcastle United
Callum Wilson was brought on for Scarles at Elland Road and could now be in line to start against his former club.
The 33-year-old scored 49 goals in 130 appearances for Newcastle before bringing an end to his five-year spell in June after his contract expired.
“It will be great to see Callum, but I think most importantly, we have a job to do against him,” said Newcastle boss Eddie Howe. “I think I've said many times in this position how good I think he is, and his qualities as a player are undoubted.

“So again, for our defenders and for our whole team, we need to be concentrated against him, because it's just one moment, one lapse in concentration, and he will punish you. I look forward to seeing him and embracing him after the game, but it's about work and trying to stop him.”
Howe added: “I think my love for Callum is as high as it could ever be. As a player and as a person who did what he did for me, the games that he played, the goals that he scored, I'm talking historically as well, our time together at Bournemouth, the attitude that he played with on and off the pitch, the injuries and setbacks that he suffered and his character to fight through them. I couldn't respect him any more than I do.
“But I think sometimes for everybody it's best that you have to part ways. That's the sad thing of life and football. You can't stay together forever. I wish him well. I'm watching him and just wishing him the best.”
