The Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots would be perfect trade partners for the November 4 deadline.
Dianna Russini of The Athletic provided the latest trade rumors from around the league on Saturday and stated that the Titans are fielding calls on multiple starters, including running back Tony Pollard.
"The players the Titans are fielding the most calls on: DE Arden Key, LB Dre’Mont Jones, RB Tony Pollard and DT T’Vondre Sweat," Russini wrote.
Russini also said that the Patriots could look to add a running back due to recent injuries to Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson. Stevenson is set to miss New England's Week 9 matchup versus the Atlanta Falcons with a toe injury, while Gibson is out for the year with a torn ACL.
"The Patriots are searching for a pass rusher but feel good about their offensive weapons. Running back could be a possibility because of recent injuries," Russini wrote.
With the Titans taking calls on Pollard, it would make sense for New England to make a move for the veteran running back. Pollard hasn't been excellent this season, rushing for 424 yards and two touchdowns on 3.9 yards per carry.
However, the Memphis product was the engine of Tennessee's offense last year and posted a career-high 1,079 rushing yards.
New England could use a difference-maker in the backfield, as Stevenson has been inefficient, and TreVeyon Henderson isn't capable of being an every-down player just yet. Pollard would provide a nice boost in the position group for the Patriots, and a Day 3 pick should be enough to get a deal done with the Titans.
If the Patriots want to address the running back room, Pollard should be near the top of their list of targets. Tennessee has already made a few trades that signal the team is selling some of its assets, so there's a good chance Pollard is in a new uniform by November 4.
