Amad’s goal secured the point, but Amorim won’t be happy with his side’s lax attitude post-half-time. However, in the first half, there was one moment that infuriated the head coach.

Ruben Amorim really wasn’t happy with one moment from Diogo Dalot
Despite taking a lead into the break, United were far from their best against Forest, struggling in attack, while giving up chances defensively.
One instance in the 27th minute saw Forest break at pace through Nicolo Savona, and Diogo Dalot was at fault, being poorly positioned and then not bursting to get back in transition.
After this, Amorim was left fuming with his left-wing-back for his positioning both for his chance and also for not running onto a give-and-go with Fernandes.

Samuel Luckhurst observed from the stands that Amorim was ‘having a go at Dalot’, with the Portuguese defender having a bad outing.
Amorim’s first change of the game was to replace Dalot with Patrick Dorgu, a clear statement of his thoughts on the number two’s performance.
Ruben Amorim not a fan of Diogo Dalot at left wing-back
Dalot, on the left side, worked for United against Brighton and Liverpool; however, it failed against Forest.
Speaking after the game, Amorim seemingly admitted that Dalot on the left ruins United’s attacking fluidity.
“If you see Dalot, many times Dalot has the ball with space to make the cross, but he’s a right-footer, he’s always inside without space.”
Dalot being on the right ruins the balance of United in attack, with teams happy to give him space. This directly means that Amad and Bryan Mbeumo get doubled up on, stifling the attacking threat on the right.
United need to sell Dalot and replace him with a left-footed wing-back in his prime, capable of carrying out Amorim’s demands.
