Hurzeler on first Albion clean sheet of season, Leeds challenge and goalscoring

The head coach saw his side beat Leeds United 3-0 as they kept a first Premier League shut-out since their victory at Wolves late last term.

Head coach Hurzeler said: “I am very delighted with the clean sheet.

“It’s a first for the season, it's a very important one because everyone needs to understand what it means, what work we have to invest to keep the clean sheet.

“It's not only the goalkeeper, it's also the defenders.

“It starts with the strikers, continues with the midfielders and therefore we all have to do the job to keep the clean sheet.”

Asked the difference between the two teams on the day, Hurzeler said: “I can only focus on my team and, regarding my team, I thought we started well, we showed a good intensity.

“We played with a lot of courage, we created chances in possession.

“We created chances when we were pressing, we were good in transition.

“Overall we covered a lot of phases and, of course, we had moments where we suffered.

“But, when we suffered, we stayed together, we had a good compactness, and then I think in the second half we had more chances.

“We scored also the goals in the right moment, you can say it as well.

“But we also know that we have to keep pushing because Leeds is a really good team and they will never stop.

“They have a good physicality in their team. They can run a lot, so we had to be ready for that.”
