Schefter: Ravens Make Rare Saturday Trade, Send CB To Eagles

The Baltimore Ravens are keeping the wave of NFL trades going. Rare for the day before a Sunday slate of games, the Ravens are sending CB Jaire Alexander to the Philadelphia Eagles. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Ravens are also sending a 2027 seventh-round pick while receiving a 2026 sixth-round pick for Alexander.

As Schefter noted, each team’s schedules made a deal easier to pull off. The Ravens have a mini-bye after playing this past Thursday while the Eagles are on a true bye week. Neither have a game tomorrow.

Alexander is a talented corner that has struggled throughout his health this season. He signed a one-year deal with the Ravens this offseason, reuniting with former college teammate QB Lamar Jackson, and ending rumors and loose speculation that the Steelers could be interested (though those were rebuffed after-the-fact).

Injuries have cost Alexander time in 2025, but his play had also fallen off. It left him as a healthy scratch in recent weeks. Ultimately, his Baltimore career became just a footnote, appearing in two games in which the Ravens allowed at least 41 points.

The Eagles add cornerback depth in an attempt to bolster their secondary. The team will also try to turn Alexander’s season around under creative defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. Alexander is a two-time Pro Bowler with the Green Bay Packers, though his last selection occurred in 2022.

Baltimore is surging back into the AFC North race thanks to two wins in a four-day span. The Ravens beat the Chicago Bears 30-16 last Sunday before hitting the road to defeat the Miami Dolphins 28-6 Thursday. The latter saw Jackson return to the lineup from a hamstring injury, throwing four touchdowns and just five incompletions.

Baltimore now sits at 3-5, tied with the Cincinnati Bengals for second place and not far behind the 4-3 Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers are in danger of falling to .500 against the 7-1 Indianapolis Colts tomorrow.

The Steelers and Ravens will first face off in Week 14 and again in the regular season finale.
