Joao Pedro was the hero for Chelsea as they secured an impressive win against Tottenham, but Owen Hargreaves has an intriguing piece of advice for him.
On Saturday evening, Chelsea picked up three points in the Premier League with a 1-0 victory away to Spurs.
Even though the scoreline was close, Enzo Maresca’s side were totally dominant for the entire contest, wasting several opportunities to add more goals. Still, the result means they climb to fourth in the division table.
Chelsea have won more Premier League games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium than any other away side since the ground opened in April 2019 (6).

Owen Hargreaves tells Joao Pedro to be more selfish
Owen Hargreaves has made the fascinating claim that Chelsea’s Pedro has the potential to score 25 goals a season. In contrast, earlier this week, Maresca claimed Pedro won’t manage 20-plus goals a season.
Hargreaves advised the Brazilian attacker to be more selfish on the football pitch, though.
The former Premier League star said via the Premier League’s official website (7:36pm, 1 November): “Joao Pedro could have had a hat-trick today. He’s a fabulous footballer, he could easily score 25 a season, but I want him to be a bit more selfish.”
In general, we agree that Pedro needs to be a bit more selfish in front of goal, especially when he’s deployed as the centre-forward rather than as a number 10. However, that wasn’t really the case against Spurs because he had plenty of chances to add to his tally.
The 24-year-old star will probably leave the weekend’s game a little disappointed he didn’t score more.

It was a huge positive to see Pedro back in goalscoring positions and in the thick of the action against Spurs, even if his finishing was a bit rusty.
Now that Liam Delap is back to compete for the striker position, we’re intrigued to see how Pedro’s season plays out from here. He will definitely be under pressure to regain the form that made him a fan favourite at the start of his Chelsea career.
