Ryan Gravenberch's deflected strike sealed Liverpool's win
Liverpool put an end to their four-match losing streak in the Premier League with a deserved win over Aston Villa at Anfield on Saturday evening.
Mohamed Salah broke the deadlock, capitalising on a clanger from Villa's goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez during first-half injury time, before Ryan Gravenberch's deflected shot just shy of the hour mark secured a 2-0 victory.
This result propels Arne Slot's team back into the top four, trailing seven points behind the league leaders Arsenal.
Here, the Daily Star Sport rates Liverpool's stars.
Giorgi Mamardashvili 7.
He made commendable saves from Cash and Rogers' long-range shots in the first half and saw the latter hit the post. He had a comfortable second half.
Conor Bradley 7.
He had a tough match against the formidable McGinn but his quick recovery speed helped him avoid potential trouble, particularly with a good challenge on Guessand in the second half.

Ibrahima Konate 6.
He started solidly but nearly handed Villa an opportunity with some lackadaisical defending in his own area. No errors in the second half.
Virgil van Dijk 7.
A good block denied Guessand and helped push Liverpool up the pitch. He provided cover when needed as Villa tried to claw their way back into the game.
Andy Robertson 7.
A reliable performance on the left, he attempted to move upfield whenever possible and took set-pieces. He may now be the first choice again.
Ryan Gravenberch 8.
He demonstrated why his absence due to injury was felt with a dynamic performance, covering a lot of ground in midfield and filling occasional gaps. His readiness to take shots resulted in a deflected second goal.
Alexis Mac Allister 7.
He was noticeably more agile and sharp than in recent games, used the ball effectively and had an effort blocked by Konsa before setting up Gravenberch for the second goal.
Mohamed Salah 8.
He outperformed Digne before the break but was occasionally let down by a poor touch or decision until a fine finish for an opportunist opener sparked a very good second-half performance.

Dominik Szoboszlai 9.
Back in the number 10 role, he led the press well and was central to much of the attacking play. He had a free-kick saved but should have scored after stealing the ball from Torres, the only downside of an excellent display.
Cody Gakpo 7.
After a shaky start, he began to create problems when cutting inside and won a free-kick in the first half. As the game progressed, he kept possession intelligently and showed good physicality.
Hugo Ekitike 6.

For most of the first half, he seemed to be on a different wavelength to his teammates. He became more involved afterwards and displayed some nice touches. He was substituted.
Subs
Florian Wirtz (for Ekitike 76) 6.
He was used as a false nine for the closing stages.
