Allen Iverson Says He’s ‘Excited’ About New Sixers Backcourt

The Philadelphia 76ers suffered a tight, disappointing 109-108 loss to the Boston Celtics on Friday night.

But the good news is that it was their first defeat of the season, and they are currently 4-1.

Like millions of fans, Sixers icon Allen Iverson is very happy with what he’s seen from the team.

He said that he loves the energy and youth on the team and Philadelphia’s exciting backcourt pairing.

“I’m just excited. I’m their number one fan. I love my team. I’m looking forward to great things. When we don’t do as good as we should, I always get flack. People talk bad to me. Because this they know this is where my heart is at. But I’ve got something for them this year,” Iverson said.

VJ Edgecombe has become a huge asset to the 76ers after just a couple of weeks in the league.

The rookie star is putting up 21.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game, shooting 49.4 percent from the field.

Those numbers are great, but they’re made even better because he’s playing alongside Tyrese Maxey, who is producing a career-high 35.2 points per game, as well as 4.6 rebounds and 9.4 assists.

These two love playing in tandem, and they have gotten the 76ers off to a much better start than expected.

A lot of people were worried about this team because of the injury problems that continue to plague Joel Embiid and Paul George.

But Edgecombe and Maxey have given everyone something to believe in.

Few people know this team better than Iverson, so his praise is very important.

Edgecombe and Maxey are becoming one of the most exciting duos in the league, and they are starting the season with a bang.
