The [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/?ref=au) defeated Anderson’s Nottingham Forest last weekend 2-0, and Scott was impressive.
After starting eight of the nine games so far this term for Bournemouth, and performing well as Andoni Iraola’s team sit second, some have picked Scott to be one to force his way into Thomas Tuchel’s England side.
Scott said he is focused on impressing Tuchel and getting a spot in that squad, but he is well aware of the high level of competition in the England midfield, with the likes of Declan Rice in the squad.

Others, like Anderson and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, are also firmly in the conversation for a spot in the Three Lions’ midfield, and both are players Scott knows well from the U21s team.
Asked about getting the better of the Forest man last weekend, in the context of the battle for spots in the England side, Scott told the Daily Echo: “It was nice, obviously playing against Elliot.
“We spoke after the game and stuff and I've said before plenty of times he's one of my closest friends in football.
“It was nice to play against him and play well against him.
“So he was having a little word to me after the game, saying why did you play that good and stuff like that. So, it's friendly little banter and just happy we got the win really.”
Scott said the competition for places in the midfield is ‘crazy’.

“They’re the best players in the country and they're showing that every time they put on an England shirt and Elliot, who I know very well,” he said.
“Obviously Declan Rice, who has always been one of the best midfielders in the country for the past three or four years and they’re players that you almost look up to and you try and take bits out of their game and put it into your own.
“So, to play with them, obviously play with Elliot again would be brilliant and obviously to hopefully get into a camp one day and see and learn off these amazing players would be a dream come true.”
