The [Los Angeles Dodgers](https://nesn.com/teams/mlb/los-angeles-dodgers/) have won the 2025 World Series, becoming the first repeat champions since the New York Yankees in 2000. In one of the greatest World Series of all time, capped off by one of the greatest baseball games of all time in an epic Game 7, the Dodgers came from behind against the Toronto Blue Jays to win by a score of 5-4 in 11 innings.
Game 7 heroes for the Dodgers included Max Muncy and Miguel Rojas, whose homers got LA back in the game late. But Yoshinobu Yamamoto maintained his main character status for the Dodgers up until the very last pitch, as he miraculously threw 34 pitches (2 2/3 innings) in relief just 24 hours after starting Game 6 and throwing 96 pitches.
Yamamoto was named World Series MVP for his epic series, which included a 3-0 record with an ERA of 1.02 and 15 strikeouts in 3 appearances (17 2/3 innings pitched).
