**INTERNATIONAL ROUND UP**

The latest international break has seen multiple Tractor Girls win caps for their countries.

Forward **Natasha Thomas** became the first Town Women's player to score a senior international goal after netting for Jamaica as they beat Trinidad & Tobago 4-1 in a friendly.

Full-back **Grace Neville** became the first Town Women's player to win a senior cap with New Zealand after featuring twice for the Kiwis, earning her 14th and 15th caps as they were beaten 2-0 by Mexico and 6-0 against USA.

And goalkeeper **Natalia Negri** made her debut for England U23s as the Young Lionesses were beaten 5-0 by reigning WU23 European champions Germany, while defender **Megan Wearing** featured for Scotland U23s as they lost 3-0 to Sweden.

**SEASON SO FAR**

Joe Sheehan's side go into this game off the back of their 3-2 away defeat to Crystal Palace in the Subway Women’s League Cup.

Last time out in the league, they were comfortably beaten 4-0 by Birmingham City at home, a result that leaves them 11th in the table after six games.

It's been a learning curve for the side, who are still finding their feet at this level, with injury and illness being a hurdle for the Blues too - but this game looks like a good opportunity to pick up some crucial points.

**THE OPPOSITION**

The Magpies will have a interim manager in charge for this game after Becky Langley was relieved of her duties on Tyneside following a difficult start to the season.

Langley was appointed in 2019 and led them to back-to-back promotions from the fourth tier to Women’s Super League 2. They went fully professional in 2023.

She guided them to a fifth-place finish in their first campaign in the second tier. However, they currently sit ninth in the table after the opening six games.

In the dug-out today will be her assistant manager Claire Ditchburn, alongside former Newcastle men's player Peter Ramage.

**PREVIOUS ENCOUNTER**

This will be the first league game between the two sides, but they faced off in a FA Cup fourth-round tie back in February 2022.

Lucy O'Brien netted the only goal of the game after just three minutes as Town booked their place in the last 16 of the competition with a narrow 1-0 victory at Kingston Park Stadium.

Five current Town stars featured in the game, including O'Brien, Paige Peake, Summer Huges, Kyra Robertson and Natasha Thomas.

**THE MONTH AHEAD**

This game will be one of four in November for the Tractor Girls as they look to pick up some key points.

Following this clash, they travel to Bristol City at Ashton Gate Stadium in the first-ever contest between the sides, before hosting Crystal Palace the following week.

They finish the month by wrapping up their Subway Women’s League Cup campaign when they host WSL side London City Lionesses.
