Michael Dawson has been left very impressed by one Leeds United star this season.
Leeds United suffered yet another defeat in Brighton on Saturday, as they were humbled 3-0 by The Seagulls and the wait for a first win at the Amex goes on.
It was a seriously dreadful performance from Daniel Farke’s side, who were sloppy in possession, weak in the challenge, ineffective up front and completely played off the park.
Danny Welbeck scored the opener in 11 minutes and though it wasn’t until past the hour mark that Diego Gomez bagged a quick-fire brace, Leeds never really looked like getting into the match.
Some Leeds fans have called for Farke to be sacked after the showing, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin came in for criticism, too.
Gabriel Gudmundsson, Ethan Ampadu and Jaka Bijol all had terrible showings, with Noah Okafor the only real bright spark.
Lucas Perri did make some good saves and Joe Rodon wasn’t really at fault for any of the goals either, with the Welshman visibly frustrated with his teammates.
Rodon has been enjoying a great season in the Premier League and has impressed Michael Dawson with his performances.

Michael Dawson hails Joe Rodon’s performances for Leeds United
Speaking on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday ahead of Leeds’ battering by Brighton, Dawson revealed he’s been a big fan of Rodon for some time and has loved his displays this season.
“Since he’s gone into Leeds, left Tottenham on loan, he was instrumental,” the former centre-back said.
“I followed his career from Swansea, went to Spurs, went to Leeds on loan and then they made the deal full-time.
“He’s very, very good. Two goals already this season.”
Joe Rodon is one of two Leeds United undroppables
If Leeds learned anything from the defeat, it was that hardly anyone’s spot in the starting XI is secure.
After a great display against West Ham, Brenden Aaronson was back to his ineffective worst on Saturday and Ampadu struggled.
Gudmundsson was torn to shreds by Minteh, Bijol looked slow and cumbersome and Sean Longstaff’s set-piece delivery was woeful.
There are only two players who should be guaranteed a starting spot for every game and that’s Rodon and Okafor.
The winger was the only real bit of quality Leeds had in attacking areas, as he got past his winger with exciting skill on several occasions but didn’t have enough support to make anything happen.
Everyone else should fear for their place.
