Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has waxed lyrical about Moises Caicedo after he impressed during Chelsea's 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur. The two sides faced each other in the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, November 1.
The Blues looked dominant away from home, with Joao Pedro's 34th-minute goal from Mickey Van de Ven's error proving to be the difference. The visitors could have extended their lead through the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Pedro Neto, and Reece James. However, Guglielmo Vicario made eight saves to keep the scoreline respectable.
Moises Caicedo had a brilliant game in midfield. The 24-year-old provided the assist for Pedro's opener and created two chances. He also made two tackles, made five interceptions, and had seven recoveries, as per FotMob.
"This was one of those goal when it’s not about the goalscorer… it’s all about Caicedo. He’s an absolute monster in midfield. He makes challenge after challenge and basically gets Chelsea that goal. It’s absolutely fantastic from Caicedo and exactly what they have deserved."
He also reckons Caicedo and Arsenal's Declan Rice are the two best midfielders in the world at the moment:
"I upset Chelsea fans – not for the first time – by saying Declan Rice was just ahead of this man [Caicedo]. But right now we are watching two of the best midfielders in world football, there’s no doubt about that. There’s no shame in being behind Rice, in my eyes. They’re both absolutely fantastic."
Caicedo has also scored some world-class goals from range this season, recording four goals and one assist in 14 appearances across competitions.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp reckons Enzo Maresca and Co. are back in the mix for the Premier League title this season following their 1-0 win over Tottenham. He believes the Blues are confident as a unit and could capitalize on the other teams' inconsistencies, with Arsenal being the notable exception.
Following the game, Redknapp said (via The Chelsea Chronicle):
“If you actually analyse the Premier League, there’s one outstanding side in Arsenal. They are head and shoulders above everyone else. The rest are all really struggling. No one’s really found that consistency, and that’s why it’s up for grabs for Chelsea this season. You know, they’ve got that confidence.”
Arsenal remain at the top of the PL table with 25 points from 10 games, seven points above second-placed Bournemouth, who have a game in hand. Meanwhile, the Blues are fifth with 17 points, behind Liverpool and Spurs.
