Sunderland ace is under huge pressure after Regis Le Bris’ comments about Everton

Sunderland host Everton tomorrow in the Premier League, and it sounds like Regis Le Bris knows exactly how the Toffees can hurt his team.

Based on current form and the Premier League table alone, it would appear Sunderland are the hot favourites to triumph on Monday night against Everton.

Plenty of pundits predict Sunderland will get a positive result at the Stadium of Light, but as we know, football just doesn’t work like that.

David Moyes’ side will present a huge challenge to Sunderland, something that is not lost on Regis Le Bris at all.

What Regis Le Bris said about Everton

Speaking to the press ahead of Monday’s clash with Everton, Le Bris outlined the key dangers the Toffees possess and how they can hurt his Sunderland side.

He said: “Everton have many strengths: they have many good wingers, they can go direct and they are good from set-pieces.”

Obviously, the threat of the likes of Michael Keane in the box at attacking set-pieces is one thing, but it is former Player of the Month Jack Grealish who will be of a particular concern.

Grealish has flourished at Everton this season, with four assists and one goal during his loan spell already. Stopping him will no doubt be key to stopping Everton.

Nordi Mukiele must stop Jack Grealish

Sunderland haven’t scored against Everton in their past three meetings, and Le Bris will need his attackers to be on top form to get the better of Moyes’ side on Monday night.

However, it is Nordi Mukiele who now has all the pressure on him. The full-back has been in great form for Sunderland, but perhaps his most difficult task lies ahead as he looks to contain Grealish.

It will be a fascinating battle regardless of who comes out on top, but Mukiele has already proven himself more than capable of keeping tricky wingers at bay, while also being a threat going forward, too.

If he does come out on top on Monday, there’s a legitimate case for him being Sunderland’s best signing of the summer – though we’re sure Granit Xhaka would have something to say about that.
