Manchester United's 2-2 draw away to Nottingham Forest only further highlighted the need to strengthen at left wing-back after a torrid showing from Diogo Dalot.
The Red Devils settled on a point at the City Ground after Amad struck a sweet volley to level proceedings. The hosts had turned the game around within the space of two minutes courtesy of goals from Morgan Gibbs-White and Nicolo Savona shortly after half-time. Casemiro had given the visitors the lead, heading home in the first half.
It seems that United fans see the problem with Dalot that Ruben Amorim fails to accept as the Portuguese full-back's vulnerabilities were on display throughout. He was caught sleeping for Savona's goal but it's fair to say Patrick Dorgu wasn't much of an improvement once he entered the fray, wasteful in front of goal while not the most comfortable in possession.
A simple search for 'Dalot' on social media paints the picture of just how frustrated the Old Trafford faithful are watching Amorim persist with the 26-year-old. The signing of Dorgu has failed to reach expectations and it's clear a new left wing-back should be the priority in January.
Man Utd Must Reignite Interest In Nuno Mendes

When United swooped for Dorgu in last January's transfer window, it came after a pursuit of Nuno Mendes ended with the Portuguese ace committing his future to Paris Saint-Germain. There wasn't a better left-sided wing-back in all of Europe last season and he excelled in Luis Enrique's side that went on to win the Champions League.
Dorgu's struggles and Dalot's failure to adapt to a wing-back role make Dorgu a must for Amorim and he must push club officials to recommence plans to sign the 23-year-old. While Mendes may have downplayed recent rumours of a possible exit, claiming to be happy at the Parc des Princes, but this is could be an opportunity for the Red Devils to pounce.
Mendes' development came under Amorim at Sporting CP and it was in Portugal where he caught the eye before making he move to PSG and becoming a European champion. He was deemed a "quality" talent by the current United coach when he started breaking into the first team at the Jose Alvalade Stadium.
The Portugal international, dubbed "world-class", may be enticed to seek a new challenge after winning everything in the French capital. INEOS have found success proposing their project to the likes of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha who were wanted by several other clubs so a charm offensive could work if they re-ignite their interest in Mendes.
antonee robinson fulham
United need a new left wing-back regardless because Dalot, handed a 3/10 player rating today, and Dorgu have proven they are not reliable to be starters in the position. Another option could be Fulham's Antonee Robinson, who was an assist machine last season and has proven Premier League experience, which should have been taken into consideration when signing Dorgu from Serie A Leece.
