Pep Guardiola’s men have five wins, one draw and three defeats from our opening nine games and would move into second spot in the Premier League table with a win against high-flying Bournemouth this afternoon.

And our midfield marvel believes that represents a solid beginning to the campaign here in the early stages.

“The season isn’t going to be decided in the first 10 games. I’m happy with where we are at,” he said.

“There is still a lot to improve but overall, it’s been a positive start.”

As for Foden himself, he’s been heartened by his own performances so far.

He struggled for fitness and form in the last campaign following a momentous season in our Four-in-a-Row triumph.

But he has come back firing which has heartened him.

“I think I’m in good form and I’ve been playing well,” he continued.

“Maybe the goals and assists don’t say that, but I think overall the performances have been pretty good – much better than last season so I’m happy with that.”

Next up for City and Foden is Bournemouth, who’ve enjoyed a sensational start to the 2025/26 season, sitting just behind leaders Arsenal.

Foden is not surprised by this and believes

Andoni Iraola’s team are to be taken very seriously indeed in today’s 16:30 (UK) kick-off.

“Their strength is how they press – they go man to man at times and really put pressure on you,” he added.

“Antoine Semenyo on the wing – he’s a quality player and he’s doing very well this season.

“Overall, the way they play out from the back and the football they play – it’s a really strong team and where they sit in the table is no lie.

“They’re a great team and it’s going to be difficult.”
