**An accumulation of dismal results has led the fans to be more vocal about losses, which has subsequently formed a disconnect with the team and seeing as how everything’s gone from bad to worse, the owners are standing on hot rocks.**
The situation at this moment in time is dire. But one of the other problems that hasn’t been identified at all is the replacement of leaders… getting rid of Fabinaski, Coufal, Antonio, Emerson & Cresswell all in the same window was an utterly bizarre choice and whilst it meant we’d have a younger overall squad and reduced the wage bill, it’s lead to us having only a few leaders in the dressing room which has shown across the 9 games this season.
Michail Antonio, one of the many players to not have his contract renewed last season, said: “Lost the culture of the club. They lost the feel of the club right now. I feel like they need to find that back. Confidence is completely down, and one thing with West Ham, they have the quality – the players they have there are quality.”
But how can the Hammers get it back? It would be through results on the pitch and actions off the pitch. If a build-up of momentum could be accumulated of just a couple or a few wins in a row, it would be a great foundation for confidence.
Action off the pitch? If any sort of action were to reunite the fanbase, it would require David Sullivan and Karen Brady to leave, whilst it’s a classic cliche to suggest the owners, they at the moment are a forever venomous poison that’s gradually becoming more effective each day.
Overall, A new owner would provide a new sense of togetherness for the fans, and a few wins on the bounce would also help.
However, at this moment in time, the only sense of unity with the fans is the feeling to protest against the owners, in which the sit-in is taking place, as well as the unanimous feeling that we are at high risk of getting relegated.
A new set of owners is needed, a few wins on the bounce to build up confidence and hope we can stay in the Premier League and just hope that we’re backed in both the next windows and can start to form a small sense of West Ham family amongst the players once again.
But miracles aren’t often witnessed.
