The Houston Texans are getting two pass-catchers back this week in wide receivers Nico Collins and Christian Kirk, but the status of tight end Dalton Schultz remains up in the air.
Schultz was on the injury report this week with knee and shoulder injuries and did not practice over the first two days of the week before he turned in a limited session on Friday and drew a questionable tag.
While the full practice is a positive sign for his chances of playing, the fact he still has a questionable tag leaves at least some doubt.
Here's what we know on that front.
Is Dalton Schultz playing today?
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Schultz is expected to play in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
"Texans TE Dalton Schultz, who is listed as questionable with knee and shoulder injuries, is expected to play Sunday, source said," Rapoport reported.
Dalton Schultz start or sit advice
Schultz is one of many in the vast sea of hit-or-miss TE2s this season, as he ranks 20th in fantasy points per game at the position. That means the matchup is a major factor in deciding whether or not to utilize Schultz, and even then it's no sure thing.
The matchup against the Broncos is a middle-of-the-road one, as Denver is ceding the 17th-most fantasy points per game to tight ends this season.
That makes Schultz a starting option in Week 9, although, as always, temper expectations.
