Trent Alexander-Arnold has admitted that it’s nice to finally get a win at the Bernabeu after ditching Liverpool for Real Madrid in the summer.
The right-back was one of the most talked-about players in the world at the start of the transfer window, with Xabi Alonso even forking out around £10million to bring Alexander-Arnold in before his contract expired.
Since then, the right-back has been trying to find his feet at Real, with his six-week injury not helping matters much.

However, he’s now fighting fit and with Real’s next game set to come against the Reds on Tuesday, it’s going to be an emotional affair for the Liverpool academy graduate.
Trent Alexander-Arnold jokes about finally winning a game in Madrid
Ahead of the tie, the right-back has been speaking to Amazon Prime Sports, where he admitted that it was nice to finally win at the Bernabeu now that he’s a part of the home team.
“It’s a surreal moment, you know [seeing his shirt in the Bernabeu],” he said.
“Again, I’ve had a lot throughout my career, but that’s another huge one and another huge milestone for me.
“To play at such an iconic stadium for the home team this time was much better than the away team.”

He was then asked why it was much better, and he said: “Because I finally got to win at the stadium, I finally got a win at the Bernabeu.“
Trent Alexander-Arnold could end up starting against Liverpool on Tuesday
Since joining Alonso’s men, Alexander-Arnold likely hasn’t had as much game time as he would’ve wanted.
He started the season off slowly, with Dani Carvajal instantly getting his starting spot back upon his return from his ACL tear.
And, even though the Englishman did end up having a decent little run of games, he got injured, with some wondering whether he’d be available for the Liverpool game.
However, since Federico Valverde started Los Blancos’ last game against Valencia on Saturday, Alexander-Arnold could be in contention to start.
Admittedly, it would be a surprise to see Alonso throw him into the deep end like that, but it’s unclear whether it would be worse for the Englishman if he came on or if he just stayed on the bench.

If he does start, Cody Gakpo should be able to have a field day against him due to how high the right-back usually positions himself.
Gakpo’s ability to cut in will also help him out massively and perhaps even allow him to get a goal or two.
