With the Philadelphia Eagles staying busy during their bye week, the trades they have made before the deadline have forced the team to make some tough decisions on players.
The Eagles stunned the NFL with a trade for Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jaire Alexander, the second trade they have made during the week after landing former New York Jets cornerback Michael Carter II. Philly ended up announcing they have moved safety Marcus Epps and edge rusher Azeez Ojulari to the IR.
We have agreed to acquire CB Jaire Alexander and a 2027 7th-round pick from the Ravens in exchange for a 2026 6th-round pick.

Epps' injury status is unknown, as he has played limited snaps on defense and more on special teams, accumulating six tackles on the season. Ojulari has been out since injuring his hamstring in Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings. He's made six tackles, one tackle for loss, and one quarterback hit in two games played.
More roster moves could be on the horizon for Eagles
These are smart moves made by the Eagles to retain as much of their talent as possible without releasing them and seeing them land on other teams. Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio alluded to the fact that he wasn't expecting Ojulari back anytime soon a week ago. Epps' injury is curious, which will prompt some NFL fans to question the move.
This won't be the end of the moves made by the Eagles as they try to figure out what to do at cornerback with eight on the active roster. Most believe it could be the end for Adoree' Jackson and Kelee Ringo in some capacity. Watch for Ringo to be a trade target and Jackson to be a release candidate.
The Eagles are also rumored to be going after an edge rusher, which will add another roster decision in the upcoming days if they trade for another player. With Philly short on edge rushers, that would solve their issues at that position.
