Nottingham Forest’s Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers have sacked manager Vitor Pereira.

The West Midlands club have made the call on the back of Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Fulham which extended their winless start to the season in the league. It means by the time the Reds make the trip to Molineux next month, there will be a new man in the home dugout.

Both teams are currently in the relegation zone after 10 games played. Wolves are rock-bottom of the table with just two points while Forest are 18th with six.

Sean Dyche became the Reds’ third head coach of the campaign when he replaced Ange Postecoglou less than a fortnight ago. Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United represented Forest’s first league point under his tenure.

The Reds are without a win in the league since the opening day of the campaign, when Nuno Espirito Santo was at the helm. However, they have shown signs of improvement under Dyche.

After Thursday’s Europa League clash away to Sturm Graz, they host newly-promoted Leeds United in a big clash next weekend. They make the trip to face Wolves on Wednesday, December 3.

In a statement, Wanderers said: “Wolves have parted company with head coach Vitor Pereira, after a winless start to the 2025/26 season. Upon his arrival at Molineux last December, Pereira and his coaches made an immediate impact, guiding the team to a successful second half of the Premier League campaign.

“However, results and performances this term have fallen below acceptable standards, and as a result a change in leadership was deemed necessary. All eight of Pereira’s backroom staff have also left the club. Under-21 head coach James Collins and under-18 head coach Richard Walker will take training while the club finalise the appointment of a new first-team head coach.

“Executive chairman Jeff Shi said: ‘Vitor and his team worked tirelessly for Wolves and helped guide us through a challenging period last season, for which we are grateful. Unfortunately, the start to this season has been a disappointment and, despite our strong desire to give the head coach time and matches to find an improvement, we have reached a point where we must make a change. We thank Vitor and his staff for their efforts and wish them the very best for the future.’”

On the task he faces to improve Forest’s fortunes, Dyche said after Saturday’s draw: “It's not like you can flick a switch and win 10 on the trot. I hope we do, but it’s not normally like that. There's a lot to be done here."
