Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has named his team for the clash at West Ham today - but there is one notable absentee.

Howe has had to make a change at right-back with Emil Krafth selected due to an issue for Kieran Trippier who has not made the squad at the London Stadium.

In a statement, United have said: "Kieran Trippier misses out through illness today as we make six changes from midweek."

Krafth starts a Premier League game for the first time this season and gets a reward for his display against Tottenham Hotspur in midweek when he put in a rock steady performance.

It meant that the ex-Bologna star lined up alongside Malick Thiaw, Sven Botman, and Dan Burn in the back four.

The midfield picked itself again as Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton in the engine room. And Jacob Murphy, Anthony Gordon and Nick Woltemade led the line.

The other change to the squad saw Lewis Hall return to the roster after missing a month with a hamstring injury.

Howe made six changes from the side who beat Tottenham in the Carabao Cup midweek. Former Newcastle no.9 Callum Wilson started against his old club and will be looking to bag his first home goal for the Hammers.
