Vic Fangio faces impossible decision exiting the Eagles' bye week

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman has certainly added more onto defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's plate after his string of moves.

Roseman made trades with the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens to add two cornerbacks to the roster. The Eagles now have Michael Carter II and Jaire Alexander to work with in the secondary.

Philly now has eight cornerbacks on the roster, with realistically maybe five or six open spots to choose from. Not only that, but there are some lineup decisions that need to be made for the Eagles.

Fangio has a tough week ahead of him to make a decision on what to do

First off, Fangio will need to chat with Roseman about who he wants at cornerback. It has been made clear that Fangio wasn't exactly welcoming to the idea of Adoree' Jackson, which could lead to his release. The other cornerback that has faced criticism from the fan base, Kelee Ringo, is more likely to be traded at the deadline since he's younger and somewhat has more upside.

Once they can figure out what to do with Jackson and Ringo, that leaves the dilemma of Carter and Alexander, Carter is more of a slot corner, while Alexander is more of an outside cornerback.

That largely comes down to whether Fangio decides to move Cooper DeJean to the outside or into the slot. Fangio has made it known that he wants to keep DeJean at nickel, if possible, which could open the door for Alexander to be the other outside corner with Quinyon Mitchell.

There will be some concerns about Alexander, as he did not make a great impression on the Ravens this season, having played only two games and been primarily a healthy scratch. If Alexander can be the guy who made Pro Bowls with the Green Bay Packers, that will make the decision easier.

Regardless, Fangio has some significant decisions to make that could impact whether the Eagles make a run for the Super Bowl or fall short.
