Sources: Gary O’Neil will consider Wolves return

TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, revealed that former Wolves boss O’Neil is willing to consider a comeback.

“I am told that Gary O’Neil has made it known that he could be open to a return,” Bailey said.

“Fosun and the club’s hierarchy still like him, despite the way they parted last term. O’Neil still knows most of the players and thinks he can keep them up.”

O’Neil was head coach at Wolves from 2023 to 2024 and was sacked during the 24/25 campaign. He has not held a managerial role since.

The 42-year-old is well-liked among Wolves fans, and bringing him in during a relegation battle would be a sensible move.

Other managers in the mix are Brendan Rodgers and Roger Schmidt.
