Beth Mead on Leicester win and building momentum

Beth Mead praised the team performance in our 4-1 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday.

The England forward started the move that led to Alessia Russo's opening goal, before providing a pinpoint assist for Stina Blackstenius to score our third in a high-quality performance.

"Yeah, it was a fun game to play in," Beth said after the match, "I thought we played some very, very good football.

"It's not always easy coming back from international break and looking so connected as we did today. So it was nice to get three points and put a good performance in."

Her two assists today take Beth to five for the season, and have helped us build some much-needed momentum either side of the international break.

"I can't complain, I'm enjoying it, I feel like I'm in a good space. Hopefully I can do good things for the team and continue to do that, but I feel good.

"It's what we needed (momentum), I think we've been chasing it for a long time at the start of the season so to be able to get that reward and get the performance in, it's very nice right now."

The momentum couldn't come at a better time for our Gunners, as we prepare to face Chelsea at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, November 8, a game Beth and the squad are looking forward to.

"We're very excited, I mean they're the games you want to play in, playing against one of the best in the league who've been doing it for a number of years now, so looking forward to the challenge and hopefully we can get the win next week."
