Before the ninth Sunday of the 2025 regular season kicks off, let’s have some fun by taking a look at the lines for the NFL Week 9 games.
My overall record is 56-64-1. The BGN Community is better at 60-60-1.
Here are suggestions when trying to beat the odds.
**ATLANTA FALCONS at NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (-4.5):** The Falcons are so difficult to predict from week to week … so I’d avoid betting this game. But since I have to make a pick here, I’m leaning Pats. Drake Maye has been too good to bet against. **PICK: Patriots -4.5**
**CAROLINA PANTHERS at GREEN BAY PACKERS (-13.5):** The Panthers have been frisky at home but they’ve been pretty bad on the road. The Packers’ defensive line should cause problems for that Carolina offensive line. **PICK: Packers -13.5**
**DENVER BRONCOS at HOUSTON TEXANS (-2.5):** This is a tough one. The Texans seem to be better than their record indicates, which also shows up in the line here. But that Houston offensive line going up against the Broncos’ defensive line seems like a big mismatch in Denver’s favor. I’m going to lean into the indications that Houston might actually not be so bad (7th in DVOA, 9th in point differential). **PICK: Texans -2.5**
**LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (-10.5) at TENNESSEE TITANS:** What is there possibly to feel good about the Titans? **PICK: Chargers -10.5**
**CHICAGO BEARS (-3) at CINCINNATI BENGALS:** This Bengals defense is so bad. Ben Johnson should help Caleb Williams to carve it up. **PICK: Bears -3**
**INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (-3) at PITTSBURGH STEELERS:** Mike Tomlin as a home dog is always tempting. But I’m just not going to doubt the Colts until they give me reason to do so. **PICK: Colts -3**
**SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (-2.5) at NEW YORK GIANTS:** The 49ers are banged up but so are the Giants. And the G-Men are much worse to begin with. **PICK: 49ers -2.5**
**MINNESOTA VIKINGS at DETROIT LIONS (-9.5):** J.J. McCarthy might not be better than what Carson Wentz was giving the Vikings. The Lions are more than capable of rolling this team. **PICK: Lions -9.5**
**NEW ORLEANS SAINTS at LOS ANGELES RAMS (-13.5):** The Rams are well-rested coming off their bye. **PICK: Rams -13.5**
**JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (-2.5) at LAS VEGAS RAIDERS:** The Raiders have been terrible but I don’t trust the Jags and Las Vegas should be motivated to play better after such a pathetic performance in their last game. **PICK: Raiders +2.5**
**KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-2.5) at BUFFALO BILLS:** The Chiefs are going to cook that Bills defense. **PICK: Chiefs -2.5**
**SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (-3) at WASHINGTON COMMANDERS:** The Commanders are the more desperate team. But they’re also injured and coming off a short week while the Seahawks are coming off their bye. **PICK: Seahawks -3**
**ARIZONA CARDINALS at DALLAS COWBOYS (-3):** The Cowboys have fared better at home than on the road this season. And I’m not about to put faith in Jonathan Gannon stopping a quarterback who actually has a pulse. **PICK: Cowboys -3**
