"Brilliant" - Mark Robins Hails Hat-Trick Hero

Mark Robins described Divin Mubama's performance as 'brilliant' after the young forward fired three goals past Bristol City to help his Stoke City team to a resounding 5-1 win.

After getting on the end of Junior Tchamadeu's cross to open the scoring, Mubama then capitalised on Radek Vitek's spill to double his tally for the afternoon. A goal from Million Manhoef put the Potters 3-0 up at the interval, before a magnificent solo effort from Tchamadeu and a late strike from Mubama completed his hat-trick.

The Manchester City loanee moved to five goals for the season after his well taken treble put the visitors, who came into this clash unbeaten on the road this season, to the sword.

Robins was clearly delighted with the result, which sent his Stoke City side into third in the Championship, and made it clear in his post-match interview that he was especially pleased with Mubama's display.

"Brilliant. It was his first senior hat-trick and I thought he took it well.

"The first one was fantastic. We had the movement down the right and the link-up between Million and Junior and then Junior gets into a position where he picks the perfect ball and Divin is right in the middle of the goal but he's finished it brilliantly. It was a fantastic goal and fantastic to get us on our way after four minutes.

"The next one comes along with a mistake from the goalkeeper. I don't know what's happened but there were a couple of those. The surface was wet and he's just spilled it out to Divin to prod it in.

"That was a good finish in itself. If you're presented with that you can be on the back foot and think, 'What's happened there?' Just put it in the net and ask questions later. That's the right way to do it.

"We started the second half in the same vein. Divin gets his hat-trick, Junior gets his goal and they were really good finishes. There was some really good football played. I'm delighted."
