Los Angeles Rams star gets MVP nod from legendary NFL QB

The Los Angeles Rams are in the middle of a three-team race to win the NFC West division in the 2025 NFL season. After a divisional round exit at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles, the Rams regrouped and returned to the field ready to compete again.

After eight weeks of action, they boast a 5-2 record, co-leading the division with the Seattle Seahawks.

Quarterbacks such as Daniel Jones and Drake Maye have earned a lot of praise for their performances this season, with some even naming them MVP candidates. The Rams have another player who can challenge for the coveted award, Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw said on Sunday.

Bradshaw recalled that when he won his NFL MVP in 1978, he threw a league-record 28 touchdowns, mentioning that Matthew Stafford has 17 in eight weeks into the season. He made the case for the one-time Super Bowl champion to win the award if the campaign ended today.

“If I had to pick a quarterback or anybody to win it, I would say Matthew Stafford is having his best year ever,” Bradshaw said.

Stafford, 37, is playing his 17th NFL season (fifth with the Rams). He has gone 150 of 242 for 1,866 yards and 17 touchdowns against two interceptions. The Rams have renewed expectations after a busy offseason.

They continue to play at a high level. While the Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers are huge threats to them, Los Angeles looks solid.

Besides Jones and Maye, other stars such as Patrick Mahomes and Jonathan Taylor are earning MVP buzz amid solid seasons.
