DETROIT -- The Detroit Lions are getting starting cornerback Terrion Arnold and some solid depth back against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday afternoon.
Arnold is officially good to go after a two-game absence. He’ll be re-joined by veteran defensive back Avonte Maddox in the secondary against the Vikings, too. They’ll help the Lions go for six straight wins, and five straight at home, against the Vikings.
Starting left tackle Taylor Decker is active, as expected. And the Lions are getting second-year running back Sione Vaki for the first time in more than a month. Vaki will help boost the depth in the backfield and fill a major role on special teams.
Detroit’s inactives are safeties Erick Hallett II, Jammie Robinson and Kerby Joseph, defensive linemen Mekhi Wingo and Quinton Jefferson, and running back Craig Reynolds.
Hallett played a key role in helping the “Legion of Whom” ball out against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before the bye. Robinson has yet to make his debut since signing with the team a couple of weeks ago.
Joseph was already ruled out for his second straight game due to a lingering knee injury. Reynolds suffered his injury during the game against the Bucs, and did not practice at all this week.
Wingo has only been active for one game this year. He played 30-plus defensive snaps back in Week 2, but hasn’t been seen since. Dan Campbell said it’s been due to the team’s current depth and needs, and that Wingo needs to keep at it in practice.
Minnesota’s inactives are cornerback Jeff Okudah, fullback C.J. ham, linebacker Austin keys, offensive tackle Walter Rouse, tight end Josh Oliver, tight end Ben Sims and defensive lineman Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins. This means the Vikings will have top tackles Christian Darrisaw and Brian O’Neill.
