When the Green Bay Packers take the field against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, they will be wearing a special set of uniforms.
Green Bay is debuting a new, throwback alternate uniform that honors the 1923 team, which wore a much different uniform than the current squad. Additionally, this set of uniforms includes a special helmet designed to look like the leather helmets the team wore in the 1920s.

Packers '1923 Classics' uniforms
On Sunday, the Packers are debuting a throwback set of uniforms that tries to replicate the look from over a decade ago. The set features two distinct looks, one with the jerseys and another with the helmet.

The Packers' new alternate throwbacks include navy blue jerseys with gold numbers and nameplates, honoring the team's look from 1923.

While Green Bay is typically known for green being its primary color, the organization used to use navy blue instead. The Packers have worn similar throwback, navy blue jerseys in the past, but this is the first time they are wearing this specific design.

The highlight of the Packers' "1923 Classics" uniforms is the helmets, which are designed to look like the old-school leather helmets from the 1920s.

The NFL allowed leather helmets for the 1920s and 1930s, before banning them in favor of plastic helmets in the 1940s.

Packers record in '1923 Classics'
This week is the first time that the Packers are wearing these alternate uniforms, so they don't have an official record while wearing them, yet.
However, they have worn uniforms commemorating the 1930s and 1940s teams in the past, which led to a 3-2 record.
