Wolves need to go and hire title-winning manager immediately after Pereira sacking, he's…

Wolverhampton Wanderers recently sacked Vitor Pereira after a poor start to the season, and they should be looking to hire Brendan Rodgers, who left Celtic back in October.

The Midlands club are still searching for their first win of the Premier League season as they sit bottom of the table on just two points. Their latest defeat was away to Fulham, and the atmosphere has been growing toxic at Molineux in recent weeks, including altercations between fans, players, and Pereira after games.

Wolves recently tied Pereira down to a new contract, despite their poor start, a decision they might be looking back on with regret. GIVEMESPORT reported earlier on Sunday that Pereira had been sacked from Wolves, and a quick replacement is expected to be appointed in the near future, but it's unclear who that could be.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers reacts

Wolves should now be looking to bring in former Celtic manager Rodgers, after he resigned from his position with the Glasgow giants back in October. Wolves face Chelsea in less than six days, and they can't afford to continue dropping points, so a swift appointment will be necessary.

Rodgers has proved himself in the Premier League, particularly with Leicester City, who he helped qualify for Europe, perhaps unexpectedly. Rodgers averaged 1.59 points per game during his time with Leicester, finishing fifth in the Premier League in back-to-back seasons. Leicester also won the Community Shield and FA Cup under Rodgers' tutelage.

Rodgers even led Leicester to a European semi-final, but he eventually departed in 2023, joining Celtic a few months later, where he went on to win four Scottish Premiership titles. The 52-year-old has title-winning and Premier League experience, and the work he did with Leicester, helping them overachieve, should be seen as an ideal reason to bring him to Wolves. The Wanderers are currently underachieving, and Rodgers could be the man to help them punch above their weight.

Rodgers is available right now, which is a benefit for Wolves, as they won't have to pay any compensation to get him out of a club. Rodgers has worked in tricky situations before, at the likes of Watford, where he steered the away from the relegation zone at the start of his managerial career.
