Chelsea returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Joao Pedro’s first league goal since the end of August was enough to earn Enzo Mareacs’s side an important victory over Spurs, who now sit level on points with the Blues.
Mareacs’s side now sit sixth in the Premier League table, while the Lilywhites occupy fifth spot.
In the wake of the game, though, it has emerged that both Chelsea and Spurs could be dealt a blow in their respective pursuits of a La Liga defender.
As per Fichajes via CaughtOffside, both Chelsea and Tottenham are showing interest in Barcelona defender Eric Garcia.
The repot claims that both London sides have been monitoring the Spaniard, who previously played in the Premier League for Manchester City.

Garcia, 24, is said to be keen to stay put at Barcelona, though, and is therefore set to commit to a new long-term contract with the La Liga champions.
The Spain international is said to be happy at his current club and has no intention of returning to England, which will come as a blow to both Chelsea and Spurs.
The two London sides had both identified the centre-back as a target to bolster their backlines, but the report suggests that the player will not be on the move any time soon.
Garcia’s current contract with the Spanish champions is set to run until the end of the current campaign, but the report appears to suggest that the player is set to renew his deal imminently.
Since joining Barcelona after his contract with City expired in 2021, Garcia has made more than 125 appearances for the club across all competitions, as well as spending a period on loan at fellow Spanish side Girona.
