**Iraola**believed his team competed well :
"Probably in the second half, we controlled more of the game , we were playing well and were arriving”.
The two chances for Junior (Kroupi) were at a moment where if we scored, it would be 2-2 and probably phase the last few minutes in a different way.”
Today marked only **Bournemouth's**second defeat this campaign with the other on the opening day at Liverpool.
The Cherries have had a remarkable season so far, with **Iraola**reiterating that his team is in a strong position.
“We're in a good spot in the sense we have eighteen points. I think the two losses, Liverpool and City away, you need not only to compete well but something special”.
Now we have another difficult game, Villa away, so the Premier League is very demanding and super tight”.
“We will have to prepare and recover well because today at the end we had lots of knocks, and I hope we don't lose players for the next one.”
Clinical Haaland the difference
The Norwegian is in scintillating form right now, netting thirteen times in the Premier League so far.
Prior to today, Haaland had struggled against Bournemouth, scoring just once in the league; however was a nightmare for the Cherries' defence this afternoon.
**Iraola**believes the City number nine punished his side :
“I think in the first half, Haaland was very good. We decided to go and press like we always do, but he found our backs, I think in the first two goals very well”.
“He is that good and in great form, and when given space, he is very difficult to defend, but we did not want to change our way of playing”.
“It's true the two centre backs need to react quicker and he punished us two times when the timing was not there”.
