Marco Silva spoke about a vital 3-0 victory for **Fulham**against Wolves.
The Cottagers had slipped to 17th place in the Premier League table before the start of this weekend after a last gasp 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United. There have been plenty of positives in competitive displays from the players until this point, but wins are needed to turn around the team’s fortunes.
“I’m pleased, because we won a game that was important for us. Back to winning ways, back on track. It was a big, big game for us.
“Two things that I asked the players in the build up to the game – to win the game, a big game for us, and we mentioned many times the clean sheet that was going to be very important for us to achieve.
“To be back in a way that we were able to win the game with a clean sheet, the players did it better second half than the first, in terms of a performance point of view, but we deserved the three points.”
“I don't look just for results. I look much deeper than that. I analyse the games in a completely different way.
“I was the first one saying that I was not happy at all with the run that we had before, but I knew what we were capable of doing. I know that if we are at our best level, if we have all the players available, we are going to be a very competitive team.
“To be honest, we have been doing that even without key players. Imagine when we have all them available. That is the reality for ourselves.
“We won the game. First half, I felt the team was a little bit anxious, I have to say. Okay, the early goal gave us a bit of calm, to play, but first half was too erratic. We missed a lot of passes, our connection in the middle was not good enough.
“Second half, much better. Second half much more fluid. Our attacking movements and all that stuff and, because of that, we created more chances, we were more in control. I know that was against 10 men, but the second half was much better than the first.”
