The Philadelphia 76ers are off to an excellent 4-1 start to the season, although the team is coming off its first loss of the campaign. Philadelphia fell 109-108 to the rival Boston Celtics on Friday, despite another excellent outing by blossoming star Tyrese Maxey.
Maxey had 26 points, eight rebounds, and 14 assists in the defeat. Meanwhile, Joel Embiid continued to find his footing this season, scoring 20 points and securing six rebounds in his 25-minute limit. Rookie VJ Edgecomb continued his torrid start to his career, putting up 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
The Brooklyn Nets, meanwhile, are on the other end of the spectrum, boasting a 0-5 record. In their most recent outing, the Nets lost 117-112 to the Atlanta Hawks, who only got seven minutes out of Trae Young in the contest. Michael Porter Jr., now tasked with being a team's top option on offense for the first time in his career, had another solid showing, scoring 32 points to go with nine rebounds. Young big man Nic Claxton had 18 points and 11 rebounds in the defeat.
