Packers star suffers serious injury before primetime game vs. Eagles

The Packers will likely be without one of the best players when the Eagles travel to Lambeau Field for next week’s edition of “Monday Night Football.”

Packers tight end Tucker Kraft suffered a serious knee injury in Green Bay’s loss to the Panthers on Sunday, Packers coach Matt LaFleur announced.

“Does not look good,” LaFleur told reporters in Green Bay.

Kraft, 24, is one of the best young tight ends in the NFL. Through eight games, Kraft racked up a team-high 489 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 32 catches.

Kraft’s 469 receiving yards entering Sunday ranked third-best in the league among tight ends, behind only Indianapolis’ Tyler Warren and Kansas City’s Travis Kelce.

Thanks in part to Kraft’s rise, the Packers are one of the top Super Bowl contenders in the NFC. How they move forward without arguably their best offensive player will be worth monitoring.

Green Bay’s first game without him will be against the Super Bowl champs next Monday. The Eagles and Packers will kickoff at 8:15 p.m. with the game airing on ABC/ESPN.
