After a forced turnover from Jake LaRavia, a three-on-one fastbreak by Los Angeles resulted in Reaves throwing the basketball high in the air, leaving none other than James to catch and slam it through the net. The play instantly went viral, with fans flooding social media to praise the rookie’s athleticism and composure under the bright lights. Even several NBA players chimed in on X (formerly Twitter), applauding the 20-year-old guard for showcasing the same burst and confidence that made him earn a main roster spot despite being a late second-round draft pick.
James’ dunk wouldn’t just get the crowd inside Crypto.com Arena on their feet, but would draw similar comparisons to his father, LeBron James, as the athletic talent is clearly running in the family genes. Except for one key differentiator — LeBron is 6’9” while Bronny stands 6’2”.
Bronny has been fighting for minutes all season long and is getting his opportunity as Los Angeles continues to battle through injuries. Although his minutes aren’t what fans would love out of the young prodigy in progress, Bronny is using every bit of playing time to impress head coach JJ Redick.
The dunk is by far the most impressive feat James has accomplished thus far, getting an impressive amount of height off the hardwood while slamming the ball with aggression. Los Angeles currently leads Miami heading into the second half, and could feature more Bronny highlights.
