Unai Emery’s men missed the chance to climb into the Premier League’s top-five as they suffered a first top flight defeat since August.
Konsa acknowledged Villa paid dearly for two mistakes after goalkeeper Emi Martinez gifted the Reds the opener when he passed straight to striker Mo Salah.
More sloppy play then saw Ryan Gravenberch add a second for the hosts after half-time.
Konsa urged Villa, who had been aiming for a fifth straight Premier League win, to quickly move on.
He told TNT Sports: "I think we can take some positives from the game, we created some chances, two sloppy passes and they scored two goals but we have to keep going, stick together and focus on the next game.
"Mistakes happen in football and we made two of them today and when you give the ball away so cheaply against a top side like this, you get punished and that's what happened tonight.
"The last four league games prior to today we won, so we have to keep believing. Liverpool have been on a bad run themselves and they really needed a win tonight. They got it and we didn't."
Villa had twice hit the woodwork through Morgan Rogers and Matty Cash before Salah pounced on Martinez’s blunder in first half stoppage time.
Boss Emery took responsibility for the mistake, which came as Villa looked to pass the ball out from the back.
The tactic has frequently worked well for Villa since Emery took charge three years ago but Saturday provided an example of the high risk involved.
“We try to play with personality through our structures and through our rules,” said Emery.
“It was easy for Salah. It was a huge mistake but it was something in our process and my responsibility. I accept it.
“We build the team here through the style we want to keep in our process in the club and our next matches.
“Of course, we must avoid huge mistakes like today. But it is part of our process.
“We are going to analyse and identify how we build in these circumstances for the next matches.
“Through it we are feeling comfortable and strong through our idea.”
Liverpool remain the only member of the Premier League’s so-called Big Six which Villa have failed to beat during Emery’s reign. Their winless run against the Reds now extends to 10 matches in all competitions.
“The first 30 minutes we were fantastic, continuing the way we did against Tottenham and Manchester City, showing our capacity to dominate some times and create chances,” said Emery.
“But the last 15 minutes of the first half we lost some positioning on the field.
“We made a mistake in our build up and they scored. The second half started differently, we didn’t dominate.”
