TBR Football understands that West Ham United will not allow England international Jarrod Bowen to leave in January – which could scupper any plans of Tottenham’s to bring him in.
Jarrod Bowen has been West Ham’s top goalscorer in the Premier League in each of the past four seasons, becoming club captain at the start of last season, and he remains only nine goals behind Michail Antonio in their all-time top goalscorers list in the Premier League.
Bowen is by far their most influential star, and interested clubs will know how important he is to their short-term plans to jump out of the bottom three, as well as long-term as an ambassador.

And that has seen the Hammers adopt a ‘not for sale’ stance on their skipper, despite interest from Tottenham, with Nuno Espirito Santo needing all the help he can get to keep them in the league.

Sources: Jarrod Bowen sale is a no-go for West Ham this January
TBR Football understands that West Ham won’t sanction a sale for Bowen to leave in the winter transfer window.
The Hammers do need to raise funds to help bolster their budget in the January window, with new boss Nuno Espirito Santo hoping to see his squad enhanced in the next few months.
And whilst West Ham sources acknowledge that nearly every player in their squad could be on the ‘trade-block’, Bowen is not one of them, no matter what.
TBR Football understands that long-term suitors Tottenham Hotspur would happily take Bowen. Spurs are in the market for a new wide-forward in January.
Spurs have asked numerous times about Bowen, and once again made it known through intermediaries they would be interested, though they have been told that Bowen is not available.
Long-term it is a different story, but Spurs are not the only admirers in that regard. Liverpool, Manchester United and Newcastle all have an historic interest, whilst TBR Football understands Atletico Madrid have also looked closely at him as a shock move to Spain is lined up.
TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey confirmed: “West Ham sources acknowledge players could leave, but Jarrod Bowen will not be one of them – the club know they can’t even consider letting him go in January.
“Tottenham love Bowen, but they are not alone and whilst I don’t see him going in the New Year, come the summer – it’s going to be hard to see West Ham keeping hold of him.”
A win over Newcastle has pushed West Ham into 18th in the league table but they still remain three points behind Burnley.

Jarrod Bowen will become a club legend like Mark Noble at West Ham if he stays
West Ham have seen some great players leave the club over the years.
Arsenal star Declan Rice’s outstanding performance vs Burnley on Saturday showed just how good the Hammers used to have it, while Dimitri Payet won’t be forgotten for his magic at Upton Park – as won’t academy products Rio Ferdinand, Frank Lampard, Joe Cole and Michael Carrick among many others.
However, one player who didn’t depart for pastures new was Mark Noble.
Dubbed ‘Mr West Ham’, the central midfielder was all but a one-club man, barring a couple of loan spells during his teenage years at Hull City and Ipswich Town. 550 appearances for West Ham resulted in 62 goals, as well as two promotions from the Championship.
Player Premier League appearances Premier League goals
Michail Antonio 268 68
Jarrod Bowen 209 59
Mark Noble 414 47
Bowen has likewise only played for two other clubs, including Hull. Although he’s only played in around half of the games Noble has, he’s not far off entering the club’s record goalscorers list, seeing Bowen named as ‘underrated’ by Michail Antonio – and with a Europa Conference League trophy to boot, if he matches Noble’s appearances as well as keeping them in the league, they should be compared.
That would make Bowen a de-facto club legend, and although trophies may be on the agenda elsewhere, his loyalty would see him go down as an all-time great.
