Our UEFA Youth League campaign continues with a trip to Czechia to take on Slavia Prague under-19s on Tuesday, November 4. The match will take place at Slavia's Sportovni centrum Radotin, with kick-off scheduled for 12pm (UK time).

We're on the hunt for our first points of the competition, having narrowly lost out to Athletic Club, Olympiacos and Atletico Madrid in our opening three matches.

We face three more matches against Slavia, Bayern Munich and Club Brugge, looking to finish in the top 22 to advance to the next round.

the opposition

The Czech side have picked up four points from their opening three matches in this season's UEFA Youth League.

Their win came in the first match of the League Phase in a thumping 5-0 success over Norwegian outfit Bodo/Glimt. A double from Adam Rajnoha plus goals by Marek Naskos, Petr Potmesil and Samuel Pikolon gave Milan Titera's side the perfect start.

That result was followed up with an impressive 2-2 draw against Italian giants Inter Milan. A Lamine Ballo own goal plus a 91st-minute equaliser from Naskos ensured the Czech side picked up a credible draw in Milan. Their second trip to Italy was less successful as Slavia fell to a 2-0 loss against Atalanta to leave them 19th in the League Phase.

Domestically, Slavia have been dominant in the Czech Under-19 First Division, winning 10 of their first 13 games, including a 5-2 victory over city rivals Dukla Prague in their last outing before the Youth League contest.

youth league pedigree

This is Slavia Prague's first involvement in the competition since the 2022/23 season when they qualified as domestic champions. They exited in the first round against Belgian champs, Genk, going out 5-4 on aggregate.

Their only other previous appearance came in 2019/20, when Slavia qualified for the group stages. Drawn in a group with a trio of European giants in the shape of Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund and FC Barcelona, the Slaviste held their own and picked up three memorable wins.

A Joao Felipe second half goal was enough to earn all three points against Borussia Dortmund. Slavia then picked up a famous 3-2 victory at FC Barcelona with an 87th-minute winner. That was followed up by a sensational 4-1 win over Inter Milan, courtesy of a Felipe hat-trick.

While it wasn't enough to qualify for the knockout stages, the Red and Whites finished in third place, ahead of Barcelona.
