“He can’t leave” – Manager acts to secure gem as Brighton circle

Brighton scouts continue to follow Allan Elias closely as the Palmeiras midfielder’s rise now includes a well-earned salary increase.

After his decisive role in the 4–0 win over LDU Quito, which sent Palmeiras to the Copa Libertadores final, manager Abel Ferreira confirmed that Allan will have his wages adjusted.

Despite being one of the lowest earners in the first-team squad, the 21-year-old has become one of the team’s most important and versatile players.

Abel told [**Globo Esporte**](https://ge.globo.com/futebol/times/palmeiras/noticia/2025/10/31/de-joia-pouco-badalada-a-decisivo-allan-se-torna-o-jogador-de-desequilibrio-no-palmeiras.ghtml) that he personally asked football director Anderson Barros to revise the player’s contract.

_“I’m happy because Allan barely played for the U20s. And I told Barros, he can’t leave Palmeiras!”_ he revealed.

_“We like him for his character and profile. He’s dynamic, vertical, and has great balance. And we’ve sold many players, we don’t need to sell more,”_ said the coach.

_“He’ll be recognised for what he did. I asked about his salary three days ago because I didn’t know the figures. I told Barros he deserved to be valued for it, and Barros said: ‘Yes, Abel, we’ll take care of that.’ It’s something he deserves for the man he is”_, he concluded.

As we [**previously reported**](https://sportwitness.co.uk/brighton-in-mix-for-e30m-brazilian-first-bid-resisted-for-versatile-midfielder/), Palmeiras rejected Zenit’s €20m (£16.8m) offer for Allan and expect a new proposal around €32m (£27m). The club believe his market value could rise to €30m–€35m (£25m-£29m) if he keeps developing.

That projection now looks even more realistic after his recent run of performances, which has only strengthened Brighton’s interest.
