£58m duo axed, Le Bris shares Alderete update - Sunderland v Everton predicted XI's [view]

Sunderland host Everton in the Premier League at the Stadium of Light on Monday evening, as The Black Cats look to continue their impressive start to the season. David Moyes' side have been on a disappointing run of late after a strong opening few weeks, and they'll be hoping to get their campaign back on track.

Sunderland currently sit in seventh position in the Premier League table heading into this game, while the Toffees are down in 15th. GIVEMESPORT have taken a look at the team news ahead of this clash, predicting how both teams could line up.

Sunderland Team News

Habib Diarra Sunderland

Sunderland centre-back Omar Alderete missed Sunderland's win over Chelsea last time out due to concussion, but they'll be hoping he's able to return for this one after training last week. Simon Adingra could make his return alongside Dan Neil, but Aji Alese, Dennis Cirkin, Romain Mundle, Leo Fuhr Hjelde and Habib Diarra are all unavailable.

Le Bris Shares Sunderland Team News Update

Speaking ahead of the game against Everton, Le Bris provided an update on team news for Sunderland...

“He’s getting better [Alderete], trained normally with the squad this morning, he’s on the way. He is still a doubt for Everton because he is in the concussion protocols, but we hope that he will be out of them tomorrow [on Saturday]. Simon Adingra missed the Chelsea game because he had a small hamstring injury, but it was not serious. He missed one weekend but he is available.”

Sunderland Predicted XI

Granit Xhaka Sunderland

Sunderland Predicted XI: Roefs; Hume, Mukiele, Alderete, Reinildo; Xhaka, Geertruida, Sadiki; Talbi, Isidor, Le Fee

Sunderland Predicted Substitutes: Patterson (GK), Ballard (DEF), O'Nien (DEF), Masuaku (DEF), Neil (MID), Rigg (MID), Traore (FWD), Brobbey (FWD), Mayenda (FWD).

If Alderete is passed fit, then there's no doubt Le Bris will be hoping to give him a start against Everton. There shouldn't be too many alterations, with Sunderland in impressive form.

Everton Team News

jarrad branthwaite

Everton will still be without young defender Jarrad Branthwaite as he continues his recovery from hamstring surgery. Nathan Patterson will also miss out for the away side, but Moyes should have a fully fit squad to choose from outside of that.

A few changes wouldn't be a surprise after a disappointing 3-0 defeat at home to Tottenham Hotspur last time out.

David Moyes Shares Everton Team News Update

Speaking to the media ahead of Everton's trip to Sunderland, Moyes has provided an update on team news. Moyes confirmed that Patterson has had a small procedure on his groin and will not be available for the game, while Branthwaite is the only other injury concern heading into the game.

Everton Predicted XI

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall Everton

Everton Predicted XI: Pickford; O'Brien, Keane, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Ndiaye, Alcaraz, Grealish; Barry

Everton Predicted Substitutes: Travers (GK), Coleman (DEF), Aznou (DEF), Rohl (MID), Dewsbury-Hall (MID), Iroegbunam (MID), McNeil (MID), Dibling (FWD), Beto (FWD).

After a string of disappointing performances, we could see Moyes makes some changes to his starting XI for this one. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who signed for £28m, has struggled in recent weeks, so Carlos Alcaraz could come into the attacking midfielder role.

Beto, who joined the club for £30m, is on a goalless run in attack, and it could be time for Thierno Barry to be given a run out. That leaves £58m duo, Dewsbury-Hall and Beto, alongside the likes of Merlin Rohl and Tyler Dibling, on the bench.
