Wolverhampton and Crystal Palace target Wallace Yan looked certain to leave Flamengo in January. Now, the story has changed. Reports in Brazil suggest the 20-year-old will stay to rebuild his image.
As relayed by Bolavip, journalist Fabrício Lopes claims a transfer next month is very unlikely. He says Flamengo expect Wallace Yan to remain in Rio at least for the first half of 2026.
That marks a big shift. Flamengo had set a price between €15m and €20m and planned to sell after several off-pitch incidents. Now, the board and manager Filipe Luís want to give him another chance.
Opportunity for redemption
Filipe Luís recently recalled Wallace Yan to the squad and made it clear he still trusts him. The forward, once close to being sidelined, now has a shot at redemption. He needs to show maturity and consistency to regain confidence inside the club.
Palace and Wolves continue to track his progress. But a January move seems off the table for now. Wallace Yan must focus on discipline and performance, hoping to turn a troubled year into a comeback at Flamengo.
