Ex-NFL QB rips Commanders’ Dan Quinn after gruesome Jaydon Daniels injury

The Washington Commanders and Seattle Seahawks faced off in the Sunday nightcap as Week 9 of the 2025-26 NFL season winds down. It was a dominant win for the Seahawks from start to finish, as Seattle earned a 38-14 victory.

As the game went on for Washington, it went from bad to worse, with a devastating injury in the fourth quarter completely sucking the air out of the stadium.

After the game, Robert Griffin III, Washington’s former No. 1 overall pick, ripped Commanders head coach Dan Quinn for having his starters in the game.

Griffin did not hold back as he ripped into Quinn’s decision.

“I’m not a doctor, but all I know is the emotion of watching him with seven minutes left down 38-7. And my first thought is, ‘Why are they still in the game?'” Griffin said. “I understand, you wanna play till the end, but the injuries he’s already had this year and last year, why’s he in the game? Doesn’t make sense.

“(I) just wanted them to hold him out until after the bye week, just let him get fully healthy and attack the back half of the season as close to 100% as possible. …I can’t help but feel for Jayden Daniels, for Washington Commanders fans. Just demoralizing. …Tough pill to swallow. …Praying for a full recovery.”

It’s a devastating injury for Daniels, who will continue to undergo evaluation to determine the full extent of the damage suffered.

Daniels will be sidelined indefinitely.
