At The Break: Emeka Egbuka The “Offensive Rookie Of The Year”
November 3rd, 2025
The numbers say…
If you believe in numbers, then Cynthia Frelund’s analysis is for you.
The leather-wearing NFL Network stats queen, Frelund says her numbers tell her that the race for “NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year” is Bucs receiver Emeka Egbuka over Indianapolis tight end Tyler Warren.
Frelund claims that Egbuka is the first player in NFL history to have at least 25 receptions, 400 receiving yards and five touchdowns in their first five games played in the NFL.
And if Egbuka wins this award, Joe believes he is going to earn it. Mike Evans is likely out the rest of the regular season. Chris Godwin? Who knows?
So the Bucs are going to have to bank on Egbuka, a rookie, being their No. 1 receiver. And you just know teams are going to keep doubling him until they no longer can.
So for Egbuka to keep up his stellar rookie season, he’s going to have to play some fantastic football.
