How Arsenal’s next set of fixtures match up with those of title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool

Premier League leaders Arsenal head into November with a strong lead at the top of the division, after securing a fifth successive league victory at Burnley on Saturday to go six points clear of their title rivals.

Manchester City went into second in the division with a 3-1 victory over Bournemouth on Sunday, while Liverpool leapfrogged the Cherries into third on goal difference after ending their damaging run of defeats with success against Aston Villa at Anfield.

Arsenal’s next five Premier League fixtures

Arsenal return to Premier League action next weekend with a challenging trip to high-flying Sunderland, who have been in and around the European places after an unforeseen start to their top-flight return.

The Gunners then host Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby after the international break on November 23, with another derby away at Chelsea the following weekend. Arteta’s men kick off December by hosting Brentford at the Emirates before a trip to Aston Villa on December 6, a side who have often got the better of them in recent seasons.

Arteta said following victory at Turf Moor on Saturday: "The first half was exceptional, we scored two goals and gave nothing away, so that was the platform. We had to make a few changes and didn't have that much control in the second half. Our defending was exceptional again, we didn't give anything away.

“There is a reason they have lost one game [at home] in 18 months, and that was against Liverpool in the last second of the game."

Man City and Liverpool’s next five Premier League fixtures

As for Man City, their next fixture is a crunch clash with Liverpool at the Etihad which could go a long way to suggesting who Arsenal’s closest challengers will be this season. The Cityzens then travel to Newcastle United after the break, before home matches against newly-promoted Leeds United and Sunderland sandwiched in between a trip to Fulham.

Arne Slot’s Liverpool have to contend with a must-watch trip to the Etihad next up, before a home match against Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest on November 22 and a trip to West Ham United to see out November. Clashes with Sunderland and Leeds then follow for the Reds.
