West Ham finally secured their first win under Nuno Espírito Santo on Sunday, beating Newcastle United 3-1 at the London Stadium.
Goals from Lucas Paquetá — his fourth of the season — Tomas Soucek, and an own goal from Seve Botman ended the Hammers’ winless streak and offered a much-needed morale boost.
But for a side still sitting perilously low in the table, victory alone won’t be enough to ensure survival.
January reinforcements remain crucial, and West Ham appear to have their sights set on a specific target.

According to Il Messaggero, relayed by La Lazio Siamo Noi, West Ham are interested in Lazio forward Tijjani Noslin ahead of the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old Dutchman, described as “good in the air,” joined Lazio from Hellas Verona in August 2024 and scored six goals in 1,284 minutes last season.
Over his professional career, he has 35 goals in 161 appearances.
Noslin operates across the front three and is considered a versatile attacker — precisely the profile Nuno is looking to bring to East London.
Lazio reportedly need to sell before making new signings, and both club and player are understood to be willing to cooperate on a move. PSV Eindhoven and Ajax had been linked with him in the summer, but a transfer ban blocked that.
The report suggests West Ham could have an advantage in January, with Noslin’s availability aligning with Nuno’s need for a dynamic forward who can make an immediate impact.
