Not welcome: Fosun and Wolves could incite riots at Molineux with astonishing Jeff Shi U-turn…

Wolves are now advancing in talks to re-appoint Gary O'Neil as their manager for the second time, and it's a decision that the board could live to regret.

GIVEMESPORT sources confirmed on Monday that O'Neil was advancing in talks to become the new Wolves manager, and he's now the leading candidate to re-join the Midlands outfit. Pereira was sacked as manager on Sunday after a disappointing start to the season, despite signing a new contract just a few weeks ago.

Speaking out after his sacking, Pereira thanked the owners, fans, and players for their support during his time at the club. The Midlands club are currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, having failed to win any of their opening 10 games in England's top flight, so it's no surprise that Pereira was relieved of his duties the day after their latest defeat against Chelsea.

Wolves Should Avoid Gary O'Neil Appointment

With Wolves now advancing with the appointment of O'Neil, fans have started to question the potential decision, with some suggesting that they would be better off folding the club than bringing him back. Clubs should never rely on fans opinions when appointing a new manager, but the Fosun Group are already questioned heavily with some of the decisions they've made.

Some supporters have even suggested protesting against the board and the appointment of O'Neil if it goes through, so it's a disaster waiting to happen to bring him back to Molineux. Although O'Neil steadied the ship when he first arrived at the club, his second season started off horrendously.

Just like Pereira, O'Neil failed to win the first 10 games of the campaign in the Premier League, and the manager was sacked in December with Wolves sitting in 19th place. The decision to bring back O'Neil certainly hasn't gone down too well with a section of fans, and it could incite protests against a board who are already under heavy scrutiny.

The lack of ambition shown by the club will come into question, as they are a host of managers out there who could have what it takes to turn things around. Wolves are clearly looking for the easy route, bringing in a manager who is available and doesn't need compensation to be paid to secure their signature.
